I refrained from the subject before as to not call someone out on the situation. I don't think it is appropriate to put someone in their place (so to speak) in public, just as I would hope my friends have the respect of not doing the same for me.
But.
I got an email this morning. From M Moon's boyfriend.
A little background for you:
M Moon and I were friends for about a year and a half. We lived together. We did everything together. We were best friends. In fact, we had a "team" name and everything. Silly, I know, but that was that.
I went to San Diego with Carrie to meet up with her for my birthday and we made a trip to Vegas during my stay. Shit hit the fan while we were there and Carrie and I ended up having to bolt early because of what went down. It wasn't pleasant. It wasn't what I wanted to happen. It just happened. M Moon changed into a whole different person that I wasn't sure I liked anymore. I felt (and Carrie thought so too) that she was under the control of her boyfriend and not the same person we knew before.
Back to the email.
It was something to the effect of: "I apologize for whatever it was that came between you two that you're not friends anymore. I don't know what I'm apologizing for but I apologize for whatever you think I should apologize for. I don't think you need to apologize to her and I know she's not going to apologize to you." etc. etc. then "If she extended the offer of forgetting about the situation and just being friends with you again, would you accept it? She misses you."
My thoughts.
1. If she misses me and wants to talk to me, she can send me an email or pick up the phone and do the dirty work herself. I don't see Michael ever calling her and doing the same that her boyfriend has done.
2. If she's not going to apologize to me after I left the table open and airy with my "let's just agree to disagree and be done with it" then what's the point anyway?
3. She's a COMPLETELY different person than when we were friends before. Completely. I'm not even sure I want to be friends with the new her.
4. Did her boyfriend really just apologize for 'whatever I need to apologize for'?? Who does that?!
Your thoughts??

Consumer Review: Odwalla Apple Raspberry
But the other day... I was in the bookstore for something else and saw the Odwalla case. I've always loved Odwalla drinks. What's there not to like about them? They're healthy, contain all kinds of good fruits for you, and taste delish. I found the Apple Raspberry and thought I'd try it out because I usually like drinks like that.
After finishing the drink, I felt more focused that I had been in a long while. Actually READY to spend four hours in the library to complete a project. Now, I'm not ignorant when it comes to the fact that advertising and messaging on the bottle probably had some sort of play in why I felt that way. But, there are also a few things in the drink that contributed significantly, I feel.
I was able to take on this particular hell week with not one, not two, but THREE group projects due (prepared and presented) as well as one regular test and a final exam. **whew** so glad THAT is over! I've got three finals and I'm done for the summer! Hooray!
Try it out and let me know what you think. :) Hooray for being healthy!!

Focus.

Or a lack thereof.
I'm trying really hard. I really am. This semester has kicked my ass from here to there and back again. For one, things with Michael are going extremely well and all I want to do is spend all of my time with him. His son is in town until the 26th and we've been doing all kinds of cool things around the city. For two, I took WAAAAaaaay too many classes this summer. I have group projects in three of my four classes. I am a shitty test-taker and always have been. For three, I have no motivation right now whatsoever. None to focus with. None to actually buckle down and do what I need to do to succeed. My mind goes blank at precisely the wrong time all the time.
And that's not like me. Not one bit.
So... for the next two weeks until this hellacious semester is over... I won't be back. I'll still check up on your blogs - cause I've got a blackberry now and can do that on the train, but I won't be writing here until then. It sucks because this is my outlet for funny things and rants and raves and opinions, but I've got to do something to keep my ass from having to re-take a class or two.
C'est la vie.
See ya in two weeks!

Yes, officer...
Two months ago, I got a speeding ticket. Yah, yah... whatever. It was 81 in a 65 (and the speed limit sign changed about a mile down the road to 70, so I wouldn't have even been pulled over if that were the case) and I had my court case today.
For those of you who don't know me that well... know that I can pretty much talk my way out of anything. I've never been able to do this with police, however, but when I get to court, something always happens to where it gets thrown out. If the officer who wrote the citation doesn't show up, it gets thrown out and you go on your way like it never happened. I've used that tactic several times in my defense. I've gotten in a fender bender at the time I was supposed to be in court - which threw it out as well. I went to court on the day they assigned, which happened to be the incorrect day - which threw it out. Overall, I'm pretty smart about the traffic system and know how to manipulate it in my favor.
So, today was fate day. I had this speeding ticket. I didn't know how much they were going to charge me because (let's make this problem number 1) the phone number posted on my ticket was a disconnected number. So I did a little research online to find the city I was pulled over in and was supposed to appear in court to... to find (problem number 2) THREE other phone numbers that were either incorrect or disconnected. I finally found a number that worked... but (problem number 3) they were closed for the day and there's no answering service. You have to call during business hours.
This morning, I plugged the address I found online in my GPS (problem number 4)... apparently the building no longer exists there and it's across the street and around the corner. Had I not been the intelligent person that I am... I would have never found it. I walk through the building and get that "look" from all three of the deputies running the metal detectors (problem number 5). They were flirting with me and wanted to "make sure" I got to where I needed to go alright. Hah!
I walk over to the line where everyone is grabbing their tickets, etc. and get handed a number on a piece of paper. Apparently, this is my number in line. (problem, well, funny thing number 6) The number is 69. Haha. (maybe I'm the only one who thinks that's funny... or somewhat a cap on things that have happened thus far)
I ended up talking to the solicitor and getting the speed reduced to 79 in a 65 (only 14 over) so it wouldn't go on my driving record. I paid the fine and left... on my way to school and other things. :)
That, my friends, is how you keep a clean driving record. COUNTLESS tickets have been handed to me... yet the slate is still clean. Gotta love this court system!!

Whirlwind
AHHHHHhhhh!!!! Life is a freaking whirlwind at the moment. School this, Michael that, Money this, House stuff that... it's so ridiculous the things that need to happen in a day.
I came home from school this afternoon around 5... and slept until 9:30. It felt great - but I'm still tired. I had to take Michael to the airport this morning to catch a flight to Vegas for the weekend. It's easier for him to be gone for me now because he's gone on so many trips thus far. Usually, my trips and his trips coincide, so it's a ton easier... but I've got a million things going on this weekend with school and friends and all that jazz. I don't think my life stops for one minute.
I'm super excited about Monday. It's my birthday present to Michael to take him to see Dave Matthews, but he has no clue. We're going to have a TON of fun (and we're going with Rae and her bf, too!).
Now it's off to do homework, housework, sleep... you know, all the bullshit I've gotta do to get through school right now. Argh.
