"Don't hit my car. I'm not 100% sure about my coverage"
Abso-fuckin-lutely hilarious bumper sticker I saw today on a little Toyota Camry.
I also encountered a little bit of road rage this afternoon. Check it out...
I was headed back to work from my lunch break and this lady was pushing 25 on a two lane road (that also had a center 'turn' lane, if you will) with a posted speed limit of 40. The road is at least 3 miles long and I certainly didn't feel like enduring the pain... so I went around her. Probably not the smartest thing to do but I was SO over it and didn't feel like driving 24 miles an hour for the next few miles (to me, a teeth-clenching experience to say the least).
Anywhoo... I get further down the road, almost to the stoplight... and there she is. Riding my ass like there's no tomorrow (what happened to the 25 mile an hour creep-along she'd mastered?) staring at me like I'd just used the last sheet of toilet paper and she was out to get me for it. At her first opportunity, she veers to the RIGHT of me.
Now, let's talk scenery.
NOT a very wide road... 2 lanes in most places (without the center 'turn' lane), woods all around, a few developments (townhouses and shops), and that's about it. [keep in mind, this is still the city].
Yes, she passes to the RIGHT of me... where there's a TEEEEEENY bike lane that's about to end. Now, I'm no genious, but I do have a little bit of common sense... enough to know that if you want to pass someone on a road (and yah, maybe you've still got the double solid yellow lines and it's breaking the law) - you should PROBABLY do it where there's still ROAD left. That's just me anyway.
Stupid road rage that caused me to snap into the left lane - thank GOD there was a turn lane in the next 100 feet - and barely avoid a major catastrophe.
So what if I started it? I didn't put her in harms way whatsoever... What she did was ridiculous and put my life (and hers) in jeopardy. I could have hit another car head on... she could have lost control with her tire going off the pavement and slammed into a tree... too many variables for her little smirk of victory.
Oh, but no, her 'justice' prevailed and she "showed me"!!
Biatch!

Weekend in review
Oh, weekends, how I love thee :)
Friday night turned out to be better than expected. Michael and I went to a really nice dinner (REALLY nice dinner...) at a fancy restaurant and had SO much fun. My girls night turned into Rae and her bf along with Michael and I going out dancing! Rae and I went to a bar and had a drink solo and met up with the guys later - which was great! We stayed out until 3 am and it was well worth the loss of sleep.
Saturday, my company provided tickets to Six Flags for everyone. Michael and I went and got to ride all of the rides because we bought that little pass thing that skips you to the front of the line. I know, I know, in front of the people that paid all that money to be there - you just paid more so you get to skip the lines. Pretty much the same way life works [those who pay more, get more]. Anyway - FABULOUS day but we were exhausted by the time we got home. We ate at my fave mexi place where the guys at the table across the way kept staring at us. Michael and I were slightly annoyed by them.
This morning, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed... and couldn't snap out of my funk for the life of me! We went to church, out to lunch with some friends even, and I was still the biggest bitch in the east. So I had to come home and take a nap for a few hours - and now I feel a million times better. :)
For tonight, I'm just going to rent a few movies and kick it low key. It's been a crazy eventful weekend and I just want to relax...
[something you may not know about me... I LOVE reading chick-lit. Yes, that's chick books... anyway... I'll start sharing the books i'm reading and let you know if they're good or not. The two most recent are "Remember Me?" by Sophie Kinsella and "Finishing Touches" by Deanna Kizis. Both EXCELLENT books... so check em out!]

For Odette
Here’s what you do:
Post the rules on your blog, which are:
- Write six random things about yourself in a blog post
- Tag six people in your post
- Let each person know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog
- Let the tagger know your entry is up
Next, write your 6 things
1. I am obsessed with driving. I drive a 6 spd. V6 Honda Accord Coupe... I should be obsessed with driving the thing! It's fast!
2. If I could take 5 showers a day, I'd do it. I love being in the warm water and I love the smell of all of my products... yummm.
3. Being a vegetarian isn't hard but sometimes I think about eating bacon. I LOVE bacon... but I know it's not good for me. So far, I haven't cheated :)
4. At least 75% of my graduating class is either A) Married B) Married with kids C) has kids and is not married D) Has been Divorced etc etc etc... and I'm none of the above. Sometimes I wonder what people say to these people to get them to marry them. I've never even been CLOSE to marriage... and some have been married once or twice. Kinda bugs me sometimes. [I graduated 6 years ago]
5. I used to bite my nails - throughout my entire life - until last year when I constantly had acrylic ones put on and absolutely ruined my nails. Well, I stopped that towards the end of last year and tried to take really good care of them... and now I have really pretty, natural nails. It's definitely something to get used to.
6. I have a secret place in my heart for eclairs. They are DELISH but very fattening.
Hrm... so I've gotta tag some people but would only tag the same people that Odette did - so I guess that point is moot now? Haha. :)

Girls Nights
I'm independent. I know what I want and I usually get it - because I make it happen. I know who I am. I know what I stand for. I'm very well put-together (so to speak). So I pretty much demand girl friends to be at least on some sort of the same level as I am. The guys, eh, boys will be boys so we'll just forget about them, shall we?
I appreciate those nights when Michael has his "guys nights" with his friends where they act all retarded and watch fights and go out in the yard to wrestle afterwards. I think it's extremely important for each person in the relationship to not shove themselves off of the 'love cliff' and submerse themselves in each other only to find a year or more down the road that they have no friends. I get that. I believe in it. And I practice it.
However, it's somewhat more difficult for me.
I didn't tell you about the situation with M. Moon because I didn't feel it appropriate for public airwaves. She and I strongly disagree about things that went down in Vegas and since we can't just agree to disagree... we're no longer friends. [I SO want to just blurt out all the bullshit to get it out of my system but it would be completely disrespectful... so I shall refrain. Unfortunately]
M. Moon moved to San Diego last September to be with a boy. She was my absolute best friend and partner in crime. With her gone, I had to seek out more girls to hang with. (you can't pick up guys at a bar if you're there with a guy and he's not gay... I'm just sayin...) Carrie, as you know, bounces all around the place and is currently in Hawaii with her marine husband. Oh how I would love if he would just ship her here instead. These two, they were my very best friends in the entire universe.
Now there's just Carrie.
I've grown closer to Amber but we don't hang much... mostly just chat and get/give advice to one another. It's a great relationship but there's not much face timee.
Rae and I are becoming better friends (we used to be roommates back in the day) and are soon to be living together as well... so that's great.
But other than that, there are no friends here. None that I can hang with. I suppose there are a few I could count on one hand that I could invite out - but none that i'm seriously excited about seeing.
I've even included Michael's best friend's girlfriends. And that's turned out to be a disaster. I can TOTALLY sympathize with Karina on this one... I try to be nice but get kicked down in return.
So Friday night might just turn out to be a friend from work and Rae perhaps... but who knows. I'll start school in a matter of weeks and should meet some nice girls there. Let's just hope they're not all 20 years old and immature as fuck.
Until then, I'll go have my fun with the girls I know and hopefully fill my time with good people. I've done a great job thus far weeding out the self-absorbed assholes in my life so why stop now?! Haha.
Eh... C'est la vie. Women ARE bitches and I just want to befriend the chill ones I can shop and talk about The Hills with. That too much to ask for?!
[my 'e' key is somewhat out of commission... so if you see an 'e' missing... or one too many, it's not cause i'm an idiot... it just means I'm a fast typer and the damn 'e' key hates me today :) ]

Do you think I'm Cuuuuuute?
After picking the kids up from daycare and bringing them home for a piano lesson for one of them... I had the 3 year old to entertain by myself. We made some dinner together and we went outside to ride bikes, all that fun stuff.
We're sitting at the table waiting on the 7 year old to finish her dinner... the 3 year old picks up a play phone from the play room and this is what I hear:
"brrrring-aling-aling (yes, she actually made that sound)
Hi Brantley! How are you?!
Yes, this phone is fake. hah hah ha [one of those 'posh' chuckles]
oh really??? That's awesome!
Are you my boyfriend?
Do you think I'm cuuute?"
Hahaha I was CRACKING up! She talked to her neighbor, her boyfriend, little red riding hood, and Hannah Montana.
Oh... and the Jonas Brothers, too. Haha!

Crazy Construction Workers
The universal hand sign for "stop" is to stand with your feet planted firmly and your hand stretched out in the direction of the person you're stopping. I don't know why this message is so hard to understand. On my way to work this morning, I turned down a street where there is a bit of construction going on [seems to be the norm around here]. Driving slowly down the road, there was a construction worker with a "SLOW" sign in her hand. She's looking at me and waving her hand furiously in the air. Meanwhile, there's a semi with a gazillion foot long beam on it's trailer trying to turn in the middle of the road.
As a cautious driver, I understand that I should stop to let the truck do its thing before I can proceed. Ms. Construction worker gives me the evil eye (like she wasn't waving me along with the "slow" side of the stop sign shown) cause she's an idiot. She couldn't understand why I didn't stop where she wanted me to... but I just chuckled. Perhaps if she'd shoved her hand out in the air and held up the CORRECT side of the sign, I would have stopped where she wanted me to.
Crazies out there. :)
